DuckDuckGo Protect Privacy
They “do not store IP addresses or unique User agent strings” and will set a cookie only for storing site settings. The founder’s privacy-focused background and the company’s admirable business model are excellent starting points. The company doesn’t store a single byte of your history, and its extension prevents you from being tracked elsewhere. Sponsored Ads
DuckDuckGo displays relevant results, called Instant Answers. These Instant Answers are collected from either 3rd party APIs or static data sources like text files. The Instant Answers are open source and are maintained on GitHub, where anyone can build or work on them.
It has Fewer Ads
In DuckDuckGo search engine they show very fewer ads from the third party so you will not disturb when you are searching for any topic. DuckDuckGo earns revenue by serving ads from the Yahoo–Bing search alliance network and through affiliate relationships with Amazon and eBay.
DuckDuckGo is Open Source
DuckDuckGo is free and open source software, DDG has made parts of their software open source. Many of the mobile apps, site’s designs, browser extensions, and instant answers are available on DuckDuckGo’s GitHub page.
DuckDuckGo vs. Google
- Google’s access to vast amounts of your personal data means that its results can be deeply personalized. The privacy-focused environment is almost the exact reverse of Google’s highly targeted surroundings. DuckDuckGo doesn’t have any personal data to draw from, and so makes itself stand out in other ways.
- Google would let you perform a site search by entering “site:makeuseof.com”. But DDG allows you to search third-party sites directly using DDG bangs.
